The “new” concept of desk sharing is very popular due to its efficiency and cost reduction. Instead of a fixed desk (one employee — one desk), there are “shared desks” in an office. A shared desk is nothing more than a work area that two or more employees share alternately.
Specific work areas are assigned to specific employees, who then work alternately on this work area while others work remotely. In this way, only one person is busy at a desk at a time.
The most important thing to think about before you start desk sharing is the team. Think about how shared desk employees will be affected, how you want to communicate this change to them, and ask them what they think is necessary for such a change. Involving the entire team in your decisions is the key to successful desk sharing.
