Like many other companies, during the pandemic, Schmitz Cargobull was faced with the question of how the business should continue in the long term. After all, numerous protective measures put pressure on the logistics sector and paralyzed it in part. Schmitz Cargobull followed political guidelines and implemented the legal requirements with numerous temporary solutions. Since it was not clear when the pandemic would come to an end, people shivered from one solution to the next. A permanent solution was needed that could be implemented quickly and easily at Schmitz Cargobull, would pick up employees and give them more flexibility in their day-to-day work.
The challenge:
After years of pandemic and numerous temporary solutions, Schmitz Cargobull was looking for an alternative to give employees a permanent place to work — whether in an office or working from home. At the same time, a possible solution should employees provide the necessary flexibility and thus remain attractive as an employer. For this reason, a search was made for framework conditions that define the “rules of the game” in the company and yet still allow room for manoeuvre for the individual departments.
The solution:
After several rounds, it was then Hybrid work notified. This new form of work should be technically supported by a tool that gives employees the necessary security to guarantee a workstation to book locally, to interact socially with colleagues, but also to be able to spend their working day working from home. The technical solution should be particularly intuitive and user-friendly in order to complete the change management process as quickly as possible.
