Financing round completed ☑️ Team expanded ☑️ Team Outing organized ☑️ Let's go!
You're not supposed to cheer yourself up, but July was really an absolute highlight in our company's history for us! And we're very proud of that! We had a wonderful team outing in Bavaria, our financing round was finalized and we have lots of new team members to welcome! But let's start with our meeting in Schliersee. Our (so far) biggest team outing ever took place between sheep, mountains and forest!!
Next Stop: Bavaria!
Instead of flying abroad this time, this outing took place in Seatti's home country: Bavaria. Even though it was a logistical masterpiece to get everyone together in one place (thx to Paula), everything went smoothly. From Berlin, Munich, Madrid, Malaga, Vienna and Paris, all our members came to Schliersee, a tranquil village in the Bavarian Alps!
Why was the meeting so important to us right now? Our team is growing and finally our new team members should get to know and love the rest ASAP! And even though we all work remotely at Seatti, it is always better to onboard in person, get in touch directly, clarify potential problems and exchange ideas on site. But before we started onboarding, it was time to say: CHEERS! Because the first evening was supposed to be cozy so that the previous team could pounce on the newbies and squeeze them out.
Work first then pleasure
In addition to all the fun, work should of course not be neglected. And work here means: working on Seatti, improving it, getting ideas from newbies and much more! There were therefore a number of different workshops to clarify the status quo and the roadmap for the next few months. And even though this sounds so typical of a start-up, it is really important that our departments exchange ideas with each other. Because everyone has a different perspective on the product. After all, we want to deliver a great product, make our customers happy and really make a difference!
After all the brainstorming, a good dose of fun is also a must! That's why there were so many different team building events to bring us together as a team. This included a pizza evening, for example! Between seemingly endless amounts of dough, it felt as if we were rebuilding Henry Ford's Model T on an assembly line. Despite a lot of work, it was a lot of fun and it was super delicious!!!
Next highlight: Our trip to the mountains for summer tobogganing. After a bumpy bus ride over hill and a ride on the cable car to lofty heights, a wonderful view of the whole of Schliersee and the entire valley awaited us. And surprise: Without us knowing it, there was a pool up there on the alpine pasture! After splashing around and playing a short game of mini golf, we went back down to the valley on a toboggan run. That's a good thing, because a huge thunderstorm set in, which destroyed our plans for the evening and we were unable to hike to the nearest beer garden as planned. Emergency plan: Assembly line dinner #2! This time: Bolognese! We seem to have a thing for Italian food.
Sing my song: The Seatti Exchange Concert
After last evening literally fell into water, we still made the best of it. After dinner, a relaxed game night was actually planned, but then the karaoke machine was fired up. The evening ended between Britney Spears & Co. and a small party. And it was just unbelievably beautiful! So the weather gave us a fun last evening, maybe it was meant to be!
Bye Schliersee!
All good things come to an end! A great hit by Nelly Furtado, which wasn't sung on karaoke evening, by the way. After three wonderful days full of impressions and lots of input, it was time to go home again. Some had a short trip home to Munich, Berlin or Vienna, others had to take off the ground again to get home.
What did we take away from this team outing? Our team is growing, organising meetings every 2-3 months is becoming more difficult. BUT it's worth it!! In addition to incredibly great new team members, we have also learned that every outing allows us to continue to grow together as a team.
Our hybrid work model has many different benefits and it works for us as a company. While it's an ongoing process and can be exhausting at times, we're sure we'll continue to adapt and grow as a team as we journey together!
